The shirt is an interpretation of the ‘Puffy Shirt’ from Seinfeld which now resides in the Smithsonian. The opulence of construction in this shirt, to me, epitomises gluttony.
My version of the anatomical heart is a repeated motif I use throughout my designs, in particular through this collection.
The vein symbolism in this look is alluding to the development of concept in this collection, the first look beginning with a disintegrating anatomical heart, the veins in this look are a progression of this idea. The veins becoming a deconstruction of the pathway to the heart. A symbol that will be inevitably rebuilt toward the end of the collection.
